They is not a lot to say the design is good, it's look like a turret droïd from SW starfigther, with the drodekass MkII style.
The realisation is just perfect.
Juste the name i look like most than offesif recon than a spy droïd, If I was a general I will use it to secure landing aera despite of the "probe design".

Ho yhea I forgot the inteior is pretty detailed, and there is also inpact mark on the exterior armor. Pretty awsome.

P.P.S : Why is there a nuclear logo on the exterior?

You shell this artwok for scien-fi/video game designers, it could be easly an Iconic weaponary of a fictional faction.
What do you think?

*Spy drone rolls by*
*Spy drone stops rolling and stands still*
Enemy soldier1: Hello! Whots this?
Enemy soldier2: I dunno but I am bored.
Enemy soldier1: Well there is a basketball court near the command center.
Enemy soldier2: Hey mate, lets play Mule!
*Enemy soldier2 grabs recon drone and heads off to the basketball court*
*While the soldiers play Mule, the spy drone listens in on the radio traffic from the command center*

Hey, it could happen. Right?

Looks great.

sure it could but only if enemy soldiers can grab heavy metal thing with jets and all this electric currents

Well, all the goodies would be inside the sphere.
Its kinda hard to play ball with a ball with a gun barrel sticking out.
Burning jets usually take the fun out of things, not so good with hands on fun.

If its heavy, well the enemy soldiers could play with a "medicine ball".

If its tall as a soldier then the fun ratio goes down.

Wait, a metal sphere that could very well be a teleoperated explosive device suddenly rolls to the feet of a pair of soldiers, and their first thought is "hey, a basketball!"? If human soldiers of the future are that dumb, it's no wonder the enemy chooses to send robots onto the battlefield.

Crash, I was looking at this thing and a thought occurred: what if someone attacks this thing from the side? Unless the whole leg base can freely rotate 360°, all the enemy has to do is flank it and all that unprotected inner machinery is suddenly very vulnerable.

These are the same guys who don't notice that you have killed their buddy with a sniper rifle.

Enemy solidier 1: So I told her I would help with the shopping.
Enemy solidier 2: Crap! What a waste of time!
*First enemy soldier gets sniped by player*
Enemy solidier 2: So, Todd, I was thinking about taking the midlevel minion certification test.
*Enemy solidier 2 looks at the body of his fallen comrade*

Enemy solidier 2:Crap! Seems like his narcolepsy has started up, wait there is too much blood and brains. Oh man, the captain will be chewing my butt on this and I will have to clean up the mess. This sucks!

As far as your problems with the sides, could make another droid that carries a big metal plate that walks along the side of the recon droid. Can call it a recon support droid. Make one for the left and right sides. Could write on the metal plate "Shoot this".

On a more serious note, it depends on the size of the recon droid.
If its basketball sized it will be hard for someone to hit the weak areas especially if its running.

The deal with recon is speed and better sensors so its not like it should be able to handle a good fight. Actually the drone should be easy to blow up, no need for the enemy to have something intact to study.

This droid is pretty sweet, your textures are spot on and really detailed. the textures definitly give the feeling that this thing has been used.

Is there an animation of this to look forward to in the future?
